About Me

My name is S. D. Foster. I am currently an IT professional working in technical support for a financial institution.

I started as an ATM hardware technician who primarily repaired and maintained the internal devices and subassemblies. Eventually, I started working on the computers and applications that controlled the ATMs.

Over the past 20 years, I have had experience repairing and replacing computers and sub-assemblies, installing network infrastructure, and providing systems administration and technical support for 500 employees. The systems I administered include Microsoft Exchange, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Contact Center Enterprise, and Intune.

I oversee the technical support department and ATM administration at my credit union. Most of my technical experience and knowledge have been learned along the way and on the internet. I have been provided an opportunity to return to school and receive a formal education towards a BS degree in Information Technology. I aim to learn and become a well-rounded source of knowledge for those to whom I provide support and leadership. This will prepare me to enter higher positions where I focus on technology strategies for the organization where I work.

The Technology Information Exchange is a place for me and others to share experiences with technology to teach, encourage, and inspire. Technology is constantly evolving, and I am here to do the same.
